Is trying to eat at all the Mexican places in Chicago doable? I think it’s a hard thing to complete. So let me get into it! The food at Buena Vista Restaurant was surprisingly good! My friend and I got the nachos as I have to say it’s was great. The temperature and the freshness of the dish made you want to have another plate of it. I got the three taco dinner and I was happy that I got that since I normally get it at other places. The services was as expected as it is a small finally owned business so we had to be patient which isn’t a problem for me at all. The atmosphere was like you were back in time. It’s refreshing since not many places are like that. I like retro places and to me it felt like back in the day. Overall, I will say give BVR a try if you want authentic food with a charming wait staff.

I almost don’t want too many people to know how great this authentic and wonderful Mexican restaurant is. Lots of options. Wonderful service. Try any of the tacos, Chile rellenos, tamales, and of course the guacamole. The food comes out really fast so if you aren’t in a rush you might want to get some appetisers and order your food later.

Loved the mini chimichangas! Moved to the neighborhood a month ago and have already gone back twice for them. Quick service and very friendly staff. Also enjoyed the flan

Very decent Mexican cuisine. Their free corn chips are very crispy，seems fried before You came in.I ordered their star food，which is very tasty.A very lovely place to enjoy a lunch with sunshine outside the window facing Broadway.

This place screams home and a warm meal. Got the enchiladas mix with green, mole and tomato sauces (green’s always my favorite) with a hearty serving of rice and beans. Not sure if this is family run but my server was the sweetest kindest lady. This is a place I would go to on a gloomy rainy day for some warm fuzzy food.

cute little establishment on the Lakeview strip. Complimentary chips and salsa — spicy and yummy red sauce! I ordered the steak chimichanga with green sauce — it was nice and spicy but unfortunately the burrito was soggy. Delicious horchata! Very kind and attentive service though, I’d go back again and try other items

It’s one of the very few Mexican restaurants in the neighborhood of Lakeview. They have been there for nearly 20 years and are a local favorite. It’s a small, family-owned restaurant, but the food they offer is authentic and delicious. Do yourself a favor and order the tres leches cake! They make it in house (multiple times a week due to high demand).

Mexican food here. BYOB place. food is good. there is only 1 lady serving. so no rush to dine in this place. I love red salsa here that come with chips. they also sell in bottle. i have shrimp with garlic. it’s so good. but Nacho is just ok.
